Selenge river. Selenge River is the largest river in our country. The Delger River, which originates in the Khuvsgul Mountains, and the Ider River, which originates behind the Khangai Mountains, merge to form the Selenge River. In total, the Selenge River basin covers four hundred and forty-seven thousand square kilometers, more than fifty percent of which lies in Mongolia(🇲🇳). Selenge River is two hundred and fifty meters wide in places and up to four to five meters deep. It is of great economic importance due to its abundance resources. The Selenge river is used for water transport, and it has been determined that it is possible to build a hydroelectric power plant on this river.
