Хэн хүнтэй үг ярина гэдэг

Хэрэг дээрээ тулалдаан юм.

Халуун хүйтэн ямар ч зэвсгээс

Хатуу зөөлөн үг хүчтэй.

Үгээр хүнийг захирч болно

Үхүүлж ч болно сэхээж ч болно.

Шалдлуулж, инээлгэж, уйлуулж болно.

Шархлуулж бас эдгээж болно. 

Ярина гэдэг харин чанга дуугарахын нэр биш

Яруу уран илтгэхийн нэр биш

Гал шиг бадарч ус шиг урсгахын нэр биш

Гагцхүү зөв сэтгэж, зөв дуугарахын нэр.

Эсрэг талаа судлалгүйгээр

Эхэлж тулаанд ордоггүйн адил

Ярьж байгаа хүнээ мэдэлгүйгээр

Ямар үг түүнд тохируулах вэ.

Арслан заан шиг лут этгээдийг

Ангийн калибр шиг үгээр загатнуулах ч үгүй.

Танк эсэргүүцэх буу шиг хүчит үгээр бөмбөгдвөл

Тарвага шиг хүнээс юу нь үлдэх вэ.

Эхээс төрөхийн цорын ганцхан

Эвхмэл хутга шиг яриатай хүнийг

Дамаскийн илд шиг сүрт үгээр

Далайсны гарз шүү дээ.

Байлдааны хуягт шиг хүний урьдаас

Банз мод шиг үг хэлэх

Барын урдаас

Балиус барьсантай ижил.

Эрт дээр цагт эмгэн өвгөн хоёр тариа тарьж амьдардаг байжээ. Тэдний худаг нь маш гүнзгийн дээр амаараа халгиж , цалгиж байдаг элбэг устай учир байнга таглаж орхидог юм байжээ.

Урьд цагт бурхан монгол литийн арван хоёр жилд адгуусан амьтдын нэр өгч байхдаа арван нэгэн амьтны нэрсийг шулуухан тохоогоод сүүлчийн буюу арван хоёр жилийн хамгийн эхний жилд ямар амьтны нэр өгөх вэ гэтэл тэмээ хулгана хоёр нэрээ оруулж арван хоёр жилд багтахаар булаалджээ. 

• A great many years ago, the Buddha began assigning an animal to each year of the twelve - year Mongolian calendar.  When he had assigned eleven animals, he paused to consider which animal should be alloted the twelfth and final year.  Hearing this, the camel and the mouse, neither of whom had been selected, rushed to see the Buddha and, bowing respectfully before the Great Sage, each presented himself as a worthy candidate.  The Buddha listened in silence as each argued his case.

• When the elaborate pleas came to an end, the wise Buddha, not wishing to offend either of the eager and equally deserving animals, quietly told the camel and the mouse that they would have to resolve the matter themselves in a friendly and honest way.  The big camel and the tiny mouse, after much discussion and debate, finally agreed that they would settle the issue with a contest.  The first to see the light of the new morning sun the very next day would be the winner, and the winner would enter the twelve year Mongolian calendar for all time.
